How much will my repair cost?
It depends on the instrument and what's wrong with it. That's why we don't list prices online. Bring it in for a free assessment and we'll give you a written estimate before any work begins. You won't be charged a dime if you decide not to move forward.
Do I need an appointment?
No. You can drop off any time during shop hours. For quick same-day work like a restring, calling ahead helps us make sure a tech is on the bench when you arrive.
How long will it take?
Most repairs go out in three to ten days. Quick jobs can sometimes be done while you wait. Bigger work, like full overhauls, ordered parts, or specialist jobs, can take two to four weeks. We'll always tell you up front.
What if you can't fix it?
If a repair is outside our specialty or genuinely not worth the cost, we'll tell you straight. We've got a network of trusted specialists for piano action, vintage restoration, and electronics work, and we're happy to point you in the right direction.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. Every repair gets a play-test before it leaves the bench, and if something doesn't feel right after you get it home, bring it back. We'll make it right at no cost.
I rent through your school program. Is repair included?
School rentals through Music Forte typically include maintenance and repair coverage. Bring your rental agreement and we'll sort it out at the counter. Loaner instruments are usually available so a student isn't left without an instrument during recital season.
Do you repair instruments I didn't buy from you?
Absolutely. Most of what crosses our bench wasn't bought here. Whether it's an heirloom, a yard-sale find, or your kid's school-issued horn, we'll treat it the same.
